I am a heavily dedicated student who prides myself on reliability and honesty. I am highly goal orientated and will try my hardest to overcome all hurtles to succeed. My background in emergency services gives me experience in leading a team in a dangerous environment as well as making quick decisions under pressure. My job as a lab technician has also helped me develop a strong desire for precision and perfection, even the minute detail. That work required extreme accuracy within tenths of a millimeter. It also introduced me to the medical field and how to communicate with doctors and other medical staff using their specialized language and terminology. I have attended numerous leadership programs and seminars including Gaston County Commissioners school as well the United States Military Academy's Summer Leadership Experience. Each of these experiences has given me excellent insight on what it means to lead and the proper ways of doing so.
I am currently in training to become a volunteer firefighter. So far I have learned the differences between nozzles and planning for and responding to emergencies. I have also done numerous drills in live training environments with real burning buildings. Furthermore I have done most positions within a normal firefighting team such as being the hose man and operating the pump truck. I know how to operate most of the tools necessary for firefighting.
At Hall Brothers Dental lab I mainly served as lab technician for non-removable dental implements such as crowns and bridges. My work included pouring up the dental models in stone for use by the lab, to actually making the castings and/or milling out the crowns. Dental crowns currently come in two forms porcelain fused metals(pfm) and ceramics(such as zirconia and e-max). For pfm's it was my duty to wax the coping on to the models and make sure they fit the precise tolerances of 3/10's of a millimeter, which is quite small I would then take the wax coping and turn it into a mold which would then be cast in precious metal alloys. My job with ceramics was to operate the CNC milling unit and the 3d printer the printer was used to create models either from digital copies sent in by the dentists or scans taken from impressions. The milling unit offered a software specific for dentistry and crown and bridge work, making my job of designing and milling the crown slightly more manageable to meet the high precision necessary for lab work.
My Job as a Body Shop Technician consisted mostly of cosmetic elements of automobile repair as opposed to the mechanical side. My purpose was to fix the damage to body panels through either replacing the part or using body-filler, dent hammers, dent pullers, or even welding to make sure the surface smooth and factory finish.
