Grade Level when Awarded: High School
Award requirements: For the dance competition conducted at school, I was expected to know Indian Classical dance and be able to meet the judgement criteria which included expressions, body language (body levels and lines), etc.
What I did to earn the award: Learning classical dance for the past 10 years gave me the benefit of experience. However, there were strong opponents who were practicing hard to earn the same title. I practiced for 2 hours everyday. It was also difficult to meet the expectations of my teacher as I had won the competition the past 2 years and had to win this year.

That year, I decided to participant in almost every co-curricular and sports events including art, music and cross-country held at school and studied for extra hours and even went for tuitions to pull my grades up.

As the leading cadet, I had more responsibilities.

Award requirements: There were indeed many eligible recipients for this post and we were selected based on our dance and leadership skills as we were expected to teach the club as well as be a good leader as an entire team of students of all dancing levels were a part.
What you did to earn award: Honestly, I did nothing more than what was already doing at school. I participated in as many dance events as possible and volunteered to even edit videos for many of the school events. Individually, I trained myself in multiple dance forms in and out of school and improved my skills. I practiced dance for almost 4 hours everyday.
Name of the award or honor: Judge for a Dance Competition
Level of recognition: School/ City
Type of award: Non-academic
Grade level when awarded: 12th grade
Award requirements: The only eligibility was to know Indian Folk dances which I have been learning for almost 6 years, even though not professionally. I am unsure of how many people was I chosen, at such a young age, to judge a competition of another school altogether.
What you did to earn award: I will be honest, I did not do anything! One of my ex-teachers approached me requesting me to judge a competition in the school she is currently working in and being the excited 16 year old that I was, I immediately agreed.

However, I did get more serious with my academics in grade 11 and after given the post, I worked more on my leadership skills because it was an online platform so I had to change my approach to make the committee interesting and keep it in control.
