Professional Summary

I am currently a set painter in Local 729. Since 2004 I have been privileged to work with amazing, talented people, adding to my own extensive knowledge and painting experience. Before joining Motion Picture I worked as a foreman in commercial painting companies for 5 years. Some of my responsibilities were running crews, estimating time and material, executing the job to meet its financial quota and managing budget reports.

Before I worked in construction I had a high-end residential and commercial painting business. I have painted homes in the Simi and San Fernando Valley area as well as strip malls that are still bearing my paint job 15 years later. When I was in business for myself it was crucial that I project the right profit and loss so that everyone was satisfied with the work promised. By successfully bidding and completing my jobs with time, material and man-hours correctly I was also able to build a reputation and portfolio for future and repeat customers. Running my own business was where I gained the most retail experience. Marketing and selling my paint service to both residential and commercial companies gave me the skill necessary to work on a retail level.
