Due to a consistent enrollment in school, from high school straight into college and little work experience, most of my experience within a service sphere revolve around volunteer parish work, as the seminarian-in-residence to several parishes, or in the hospital, working in the Department of Pastoral Care at Waterbury Hospital. While they are not jobs with set wages, I have learned interpersonal and communicative skills from working hands on with people of all different faith traditions and backgrounds.
In what I lack in job-based experience, I fully believe I make up for any volunteer work I have done through the Archdiocese. In my earnest desire to serve all whom I come across, I am motivated to follow the pastoral and servant path. Through my work as a religious education instructor, I was required to review elementary catechism and demonstrate the Catholic faith in a 21st century expression; as a chaplain, I provided a ministry of presence, through support, guidance, healing and reconciliation.
