My duties as a recreation leader for the City of Dothan consist of overseeing and directing employees on maintenance in and around a 200 acre park and also 17 athletic fields.
My duties on the maintenance side consist of maintaining and also directing employees in performing routine and also advanced field maintenance and also routine park maintenance and also irrigation repairs.
This consists of supervising staff getting an athletic field ready to play on and performing task such as raking out batters boxes, tamping pitcher’s mound and home plates, chalking lines and batters boxes, dragging and using the float blade to fill in holes and smooth out and pack the playing surface.

My duties as a Utility worker for the City of Dothan was to maintain the grounds in the park such as baseball and softball fields and also maintain 3 city parks separate from Wiregrass Park.
I also dealt with the general public and park patrons on a day to day basis and answered any questions or concerns.
I was responsible for maintaining and servicing the equipment such as zero turn, weed eaters, edger’s, tractor.

As a Utility Worker for the City of Dothan I supervised youth basketball, softball and youth football games.
This consists of making sure that the players and coaches are able to compete in a safe environment and that they are able to compete without any outside distractions.
This consists of crowd control, making sure the court or field is in the shape that it needs to be.
The supervision of youth sports also consists of making sure that all rules are being followed by each team.

This consisted of before the registration for football getting an inventory sheet of all the equipment that we have and also compiling a list of equipment that we need.
Before registration we also compiled a bag of equipment for each recreation center to size with during registration.
After registration I helped with the sorting of new equipment that we was being received and also the bagging of equipment for each team and each age group.
After uniforms were given out I was sometimes tasked with making trips at least 3 to 4 times a week to exchange equipment for the right size.
After the season I helped and performed the taking up and cleaning of equipment.
