The work force strength together at 2 Shipyards Surat & Dahej is more than 10 thousand with an expertise in building various types of ships from Anchor Handlers (AHTS) to FPSO, Bulk Carriers, Cement Carriers, Passenger vessels, Diving support vessels and offshore Platforms etc.
I was managing and coordinating all corrosion prevention, preservation and coating activities.
As a leader implemented technology innovation, upgraded equipment, procedures and tools to improve productivity and quality of work performed.
During my tenure at ABG I controlled and managed coating application, coating quality control and production of more than 140 new building vessels of various sizes and complexity and similar numbers of repair vessels.
Key responsibilities were to: - Guide hull and electrical departments to design and implement the installation of cathodic protection system on ships by sacrificial anodes and impressed current.
Guide a team of certified engineers (NACE CIP 1, NACE CIP 2) for application of protective coatings in ballast water tanks and void spaces as per IMO PSPC regulations.
Control of about 500 contract work force for painting jobs of Ships.
Control of Automatic Plate blasting and priming plants.
Guide a team of certified coating engineers on application of different procedures and standards for marine coatings such as ISO 8501, SFS 8145, NACE, and ASTM standards for preservation and coating work done on marine vessels and offshore platforms and Jack-up rigs.
Coordinate with clients, Classification societies such as DNV, BV, NKK, LRS, ABS etc.
and subcontractors and vendors for completing the tasks on time within budget and to the client's and Class satisfaction under strict compliance with international rules and regulation.
Prepare monthly work progress reports and present the same to higher management for appraisal.
Other key Projects Completed under my guidance and monitoring includes - As Project In charge - Planned and executed complete Ship building work including, Piping, Electrical, Outfit, and Machinery of AHTS vessels built for LAMNALCO- Abu Dhabi and Maridive-Egypt.
Planned , Managed and executed - Blasting, metallizing and painting of more than 40 wind mill towers built for Enercon (India) Ltd.
Surface treatment and coating application monitoring and quality control of several vessels as per IMO PSPC regulations including - 32K bulk carriers (BC) of PSL Shipping, Thailand 35K BC of Vogaman 54K BC of ESLL As Project Engineer.
I was leading a team of engineers for process handling of various operation and maintenance activities at Oil and Natural Gas Commission, HGPC, Hazira, Surat for - Bulk loading of LPG and NGL in road tankers and rail wagons.
Calibration of PD meters.
Process control, coordination and management of Raw Water Treatment plant, fresh water and drinking water production, chemical dosing, raw water reservoir management and maintenance.
Waste water treatment plant operations and process control.
Fire water pump house operation and process control.
Manpower and other resource planning and control for these operations.
