Dear Hiring Manager, My name is Giselle Rivera, and I am currently a senior at Lehman College where I have completed all of my course requirements for a major in Psychology. As I enter my fourth year of study, I will be working toward a minor in Sociology. I am excited to have been selected for a position as a Cuny Service Corps member. This granted opportunity will not only enable me to acquire valuable skills related to my area of study, but will allow me to make a valuable contribution within my community as well, which is the reason I selected an area of study centered in human services. Although my employment history is concentrated in administrative office work as you will find in my resume, many of those titles required direct contact with clients and have been a contributing factors to my exceptional social skills. The most rewarding part of my job as a Paralegal with my prior employer was directly interacting with clients and acting as an advocate for them. Also, as a Program Aide I was able to work directly with high school dropout adolescents in the initial intake process. I enjoyed advising and encouraging students to complete the program and furthering their education. If selected to be a part of your organization, you will find that not only do I possess exceptional administrative skills but, I also possess excellent interpersonal skills. I will bring a unique set of skills to your organization if selected for placement. I hope I am able to utilize my existing skills and educational course work in psychology to become an advocate for minorities within my community that are facing personal problems that are related to public issues. While obtaining valuable work experience within your organization, I also hope to be a contributing factor in helping your organization meet their goals. Attached you will find a copy of my resume, along with a copy of my unofficial transcript. I look forward to being a part of your team this coming fall if matched with your organization.
