Logistics Manager August 2006 to August 2006Graphic Paper of New York － Central Islip, New YorkI oversee all movement of shipments of freight throughout the United States and meet all the transportation requirements for my employer. I supervise nine company drivers and numerous outside carriers and owner operators on a daily basis. Ensuring that all company drivers are compliant with DOT regulations and managing the maintenance requirements of all trucks. On a daily bases, I establish an accurate schedule of deliveries, that is created from daily requests from customers and sales associates both outside and within the company. My employer has entrusted me to manage all drivers, hire and dismiss any employee that I supervised. In-addition, I assist and advise deliveries with our New England and New Jersey warehouses. I organize and schedule all inbound freight by generating a daily and weekly schedule for the warehouse supervisor. By closely monitoring and coordinating- shipments with outside logistics companies and LTL carriers I am able to give update and accurate information to customers and my employer. By negotiating freight rates with outside carriers I am able to save the company money by not using brokers and, establishing a relationship with carriers keeping freight costs down.
