Summary

My name is Jessica Claire and I went to school at Palm Beach community college to be a professional hairdresser. I have been doing it for about 11 years now and absolutely love it I would do it for free if I didn't have to live in pay bills. I love everything between color hair extensions which I am also licensed with Great lengths hair from Palm Beach community college. I can also do ethnic hair I can do relaxers. I am a hard worker and I like to keep moving I don't like to sit and do nothing I always can find something to do whether that's sweep or clean the sinks or either help out another stylist. I also like to come in early in the morning before my shift and look at my schedule to see my bookings and what I'm doing for the day and what I can try to put in to fit in my schedule to upsell and make more in the time that I have booked with the clients to fit in with what's already scheduled in the computer. And also ask them if they would like a treatment for instance. They may say no and that's fine but I will try for the full day and have my day planned by looking at my schedule and bookings of my clients and what their coming in for and how long I have with them so I also know not to get behind because then I could probably get behind with all of them but you can also catch up with the next one if you do have a little time issue with a client you can always make it up with the next one and that doesn't mean to just quickly and not do my 100% on that next client because I need to make up for my time from the previous client. Whether it's a product or maybe a hair conditioning treatment or just a head massage. I was Dino's assistant at changes before I wasnt licensed and I remember when I got my license and came in they were all excited to hear if I passed or not and it happened twice the first time I didnt pass the clinical only the theory the first time which I would have thought the opposite that I would have passed the clinical and not the theory. The second time I was like yes I got it! I didn't want to leave but I wanted to do hair and I wanted to have a chair for the first time I was excited and I have worked at Hair Market at three different locations Wellington, Royal Palm and Lake Worth. I enjoy working there but I want to not put my professional talent that I have grown more more over the years and learned from classes, to hair shows or even another stylist. My thing is everyone can be a creative stylist like say with color. We all have our ways and you can take several ways to get to one color destination. So every stylist has their own style or technique and may work and create their masterpiece in many different ways. As long as the client is happy and I'm happy that's what makes me feel good and why I love my job/professional career I chose when I was young because I didn't know what I wanted to be one day I was doing my sister's hair when we were in high school she didn't know how to do her hair or dress so she would have me do it and my mom said you were going to do hair when you get older. So it's funny years later she brought it up that moms are always right they know everything and they are she told me when I was little and here I am and I love it.When they hug you and say don't ever leave your a magician with a wand. Gives you a great feeling to make a woman feel beautiful because at the end of the day that's the best part of my career. And we almost become family where they start to bring in their husbands, children to meet their stylist that they saw when she went home that the husband usually doesn't even notice when their significant other get their hair done, and they don't really ever pay attention, only when bills come in. So that's my favorite part of my artistic ability and my creativity to change a woman and she leaves with her head up smiling and like she's had a huge change. A woman's hair is our only thing that makes you feel like your so beautiful and we can do many things to it. I have excelled in my profession seen and learned, heard and also yes I wasn't afraid to ask another stylist for their opinion on my formula. We are a team and it takes all of us to make the salon one and busy. When you walk through the doors you leave your personal life outside and walk into the salon with a smile, nicely dressed and appropriate, nice hair and make up and good hygiene. And also early so you can be set up with your station everything ready to go for your first client so you are ready for them before they walk in the door. How you look how you carry yourself and how your performance is when you are with a client others see and can be a judgment so you always want to be on your best performance. I have also learned that you don't know everything such as styles and hair colors ect. Techniques and tools change all the time so it's always good to keep up with what's in style and go to classes go to the hair shows go to the color classes you don't always know everything you always have to keep up and learn the new techniques and the new cuts or colors that came out. Also make sure you clean your tools and your brushes for the next client after every client and your station and your seat and sanitize. You also have to be familiar with if you have an issue with maybe a clients little girl has head lice you have to know how to handle that in a professional and discrete manner make sure you do not do it in an opened area on the floor around people because you do not want to embarrass and make it a scene so you have to professionally quietly ask the mom to come back to the color room and let her know back there away from people so they're not embarrassed and other people don't know and just let them know that you cannot perform their scheduled hair appointment. I wouldn't be able to do their hair because it is a hazard and it can spread, she needs to go and have it removed and come back,I am so very sorry. That is one of the situations that I've gone through. So that is a little bit about me I love people I love doing hair when I'm with a client I get lost in their hair that everything and anything around me it's like it's just me and the hair and I love it. I want to move up into a higher and salon that's why I am asking if I could please have a chair and prove to you and show you how much I have grown and learned and I'm an amazing hairdresser. I want to focus on my future and rebuild myself of course but also for my future but to start a family, maybe one day a house and that's what I think of everyday when I wake up early in the morning. I am on my own now and I can do it and I've gotten this far and it's time for me to know my worth and my profession and my talent that I am just as worth working in one of those high-end salons just like another stylist, just because I came from another salon that was a $16 haircut type of salon I put a lot of years of working for her and learning, I can prove my talent to you and impress clients and grow, it would be the best and most amazing thing that could happen to me right now at this point and time in my life, that just because I lost my family, hair has always been my passion and would cover up my wounds and heal me so I'm growing and thinking of my passion hair and busy working as much as I possibly can and is available, and would be the start to my future and I'm there. So if you could please just give me a chance see what I have to offer and I will show you and give you my all 100%. And I love your salon because you guys are like family and you do a lot of charity it's not like most other salons I love that you guys give out to those in need and it makes you feel really good because 11 years later of doing hair this world has changed and we all need to stick together and I'm hoping that I can get in and become a family to the salon. Even if you give me a 90-day probation period would be amazing. Well that a little summery of myself and I pray to hear from you and you give at least the chance I promise I would not let you down and I still have alot to learn when style are always changing. Hope to hear from you soon!! Thank you for taking the time to read and go over my resume and this section to learn about who I am and what I've done and can do. God Bless
