Since becoming a registered nurse in 1979, I have worked in various capacities within the healthcare field. I have worked primarily in physical therapy, health and wellness and habilitation. My most recent affiliation is with Matheny Medical and Educational Center. Beginning in June 2005, I have worked exclusively with the medically complex Developmentally Disabled population providing nursing and supervisory services. My responsibilities have included working as a floor nurse caring for 11-13 patients daily 2005-2011(all wheelchair bound and medically complex), a substitute school nurse 2005-2011 as needed, trip nurse 2005-2011, adult day program nurse supervisor for 9 day students 2011-2013 and May 2013 -present as the nurse manager of two group homes in Frelinghuysen Twps. N.J. Current responsibilities include overseeing, assessing and managing the medical care and needs of 12 medically complex developmentally disabled adults (all wheelchair bound) while in remaining in compliance with DDD and state requirements. I schedule and attend most medical appointments and am responsible for training and directing a staff of 33 to deliver prescribed care.
