The University of Tampa Abroad Ambassadors organization (UTAA) serves a direct purpose to evolve and further assist the Education Abroad department at the University of Tampa. Responsibilities include promoting participation in international education while respecting cultural sensitivities by hosting on-campus events such as study abroad fairs. Other responsibilities include debriefing students at pre-departure orientations and acting as a peer advisor in the international programs office advising on program requirements and discussing the process of study abroad.
Studied abroad in Meknes, Morocco during my sophomore year to learn more Islamic culture, society, and politics, as well increase Modern Standard Arabic language practice.
Participant in the PEACE (People Exploring Active Community Experiences) Alternative Breaks Program branch of the PEACE Volunteer Center at the University of Tampa. Worked alongside other students to help a specific community in the Amazon Rain forest to become self sustaining and contributing to reforestation and community development.
Volunteered with PEACE Volunteer Center to remove litter from local beach to promote environmental awareness in the community.
Sorted donated and surplus medical products, such as syringes, catheters, and gowns that are distributed around the world to countries in need of them for humanitarian aid and disaster relief.
