Administrative Planning: Responsible for administrative work in planning, specifying and implementing facilities and interior design elements.
Performs liaison responsibilities with vendors, clients, other design staff, contractors and purchasing staff.
Provide assistance in development of a defined scope of work, the initial programming, preparation of plans and specifications for major construction and renovation projects at seven campuses and four satellite locations for Dallas County Community College.
Responsible for ensuring consistent aesthetics and ADA compliant environment at all campus locations.
Consult with requesting department users to determine needs, coordinates architectural, structural, mechanical, and interior design elements into plans and specifications for major construction and renovation projects.
Coordinate construction meetings and act as liaison between design team, contractors and end users/stakeholders.
Develop project budget, cost estimates and specifications based on identification of types and quantities of material and method of installation.
Manage selection and procurement of FF&E, act as point of contact for all interior projects.
Coordinate plans for interior design of student, staff, teaching, research and faculty areas including organizing information for basic furnishing layout, finish boards, installation plans and /or related drawings.
Assists management with various design projects, including selection of finishes, furniture/environmental décor, function of space, color, aesthetics, floor coverings and lighting requirements.
Manage and coordinate relocation of staff and reconfigure of space and act as point of contact between furniture/construction manufacturer and campus staff.
Coordinate all deliveries of installations related to interior projects.
Researches applicable building codes to include but not limited to accessibility, sustainability and materials to ensure compliance with local authoritities.
Provide assistance to consultant in the coordination of as built plans and specifications, maintnain CADD storage of current and archival plans and specifications.
Evaluate potential architectural, engineering and interior design consultants and/or contractors; perform technical review of plans/specifications submitted.
Provide monthly status reports on all Maintenance Projects, Staff Assisted Projects and Construction/Renovation Projects to all Vice Presidents of Business Affairs, Purchasing Department and Diversity Department JEAN HILL Page 2 Projects at Dallas County Community College Managed 2010 ADA Priority 1 Compliant Projects at all DCCCD locations successfully.
Projects completed located at Brookhaven College, El Centro College, North Lake College, Cedar Valley College, Eastfield College, Mountain View College and all satellite locations.
Richland College pending approval of Board.
Projects were assessed as Priority 1 thru 4.
Priority 1 violations were to be completed by March 2012.
Projects consisted of accessible route, accessible entrance, toilet rooms, drinking fountains, communication elements, parking spaces and other accessible elements.
Managed and coordinated the relocation of Awards Management Team.
Move consisted of relocating the entire department from District Office to the District Service Center.
Move involved redesign of existing space to accommondate additional staff, coordinating the facilities staff, HR department staff and furniture manufacturer.
Existing space required demo of existing cubicles, redesign of space, procurement of furniture, delivery and installation.
Conducted feasibility studies periodically at various campuses to determine redesign of existing spaces.
Feasbility study completed at Mountain View College to determine if existing tiered lecture hall will accommondate renovations; feasibility study conducted at Cedar Valley College for possible redesign of campus entry building to acommondate second level.
Manage and coordinate renovation of Guadalupe Hall Locker Rooms at Richland College.
Project consist of renovating the faculty/staff locker rooms in conjunction with both male and female athletics locker rooms/team rooms/restrooms and shower areas.
All areas to comply with Title IX Federal requirements.
Review of architectural drawings, selection of interior finish out, materials/and selection of furniture, act as liaison between campus staff and architectural team.
Develop design/layout and oversee construction of renovation at Treetop Café at Brookhaven College.
Project involved incorporating school colors into cafeteria/dining area, created intricate floor patterns using color tiles for an inviting space.
Prepared documents for bidding.
Combined campus cafeteria with Subway's (food vendor) design which resulted in greater use by students and generating higher revenue for the college.
Training & Instructional Services: Successfully completed National Council for Interior Design Qualifications Examination May 2012 , Certificate Number 28684 Graduate of Leadership DCCCD 2010 program-training geared toward development for emerging leaders in the Dallas County Community College District.
Completed Building Green Metal Roofs and Walls, April 2010 training with Metal Construction Association Registered with Texas Board of Architectural Examiners April 2007.
Participant and completed full curriculum for APPPA 2008, Institute for Facilities Management.
Completed RS Means 2005 training for Construction Cost Estimating.
Completed Construction Scheduling Analysis 2005 for professional development.
Nominated for Administrator of the Year 2010 and 2014 Ongoing attendance at NeoCon Conference to evaluate future trends and needs of Interior Design industry.
