I have been a certified/licensed substance abuse counselor for approximately 10 years. I am experienced in assessments, treatment planning, group/individual counseling, chart auditing, and working closely with various community organizations. For the past 12 years, I have held positions that require timeliness, accuracy, and an ability to work not only independently but also to work well with others inside and outside of my organization. My experiences have required me to be resourceful, responsible, results-oriented, and deadline driven, to name a few. My attitude is positive, proactive, and reliable.
I am responsible for processing client applications for food stamps, medicaid, and/or cash assistance to determine eligibility of each area. This has required that I become proficient in the computer programs used by the department, adhering to state and federal policies. I validate a client's income, assets, and expenses in determining their eligibility. Documentation, timeliness, and accuracy are paramount to my job.

In this position, I was responsible for maintaining my own caseload to include timely and accurate documentation, chart auditing, referrals, scheduling, assessments, treatment planning, counseling, implementation of our youth program as well as our HIV program, and community outreach. I worked closely with local agencies in a holistic approach to client treatment.
