This 13-week program taught by the University of Pennsylvania, provides real-world learning to help students develop an entrepreneurial mindset. This is a creative, design-centered, and flexible problem-solving framework that allows students to identify and explore opportunities, make informed decisions, stand firm in the face of adversity, and effectively communicate. At the end of the program, students present their projects and showcase their personal development. These projects are self-directed, but students have Schoolyard Ventures staff at their disposal for guidance and brainstorming. Students are encouraged to choose topics that ignite their intrigue and keep them curious.

Competitor MFSBiz Entrepreneurship Pitch Competition City, STATE,

An upper school pitch competition sponsored by Drexel University that challenged students to develop an idea for a business, profit, or non-for-profit. Students could start a small business, large company, solo venture, or start-up. Each student was required to develop their idea, identify the market9s) and consumer they aimed to target. The culmination was a five-minute pitch to convince judges to invest in their idea. Ideas were judged based on innovation, impact, implementation, metrics, presentation delivery, and pitch deck/presentation.

  • Pitched Advokid concept - a digital platform and community to support students with learning differences
  • 2nd Place Winner - competed against 20 other students from Moorestown Friends School and won 2nd place price of $250
