  • Alien Smuggler Identification and Deterrence (ASID) Intelligence Unit.
  • Start Date: 08/08/2013 End Date: Present ASID is a branch of Sector Intelligence department.
  • As a law enforcement plain-clothes unit specializing in the identification interviewing and interrogation of alien foot guides; mules; scouts; caretakers; subjects involved in resupply activities; bandits; rip crews; and criminal aliens.
  • ASID's primary duty is the identification of individuals who are involved in smuggling of people and contraband that have been apprehended by the Border Patrol.
