Started as a Corrections Officer. As a corrections officer, I helped to maintain the security and safety of the inmates, as well as assisted in pulling inmates for court, medical appointments and meetings with attorneys, etc. Completed the POST academy in 2007 and was promoted to Sergeant. In 2009, I transferred to the booking room. As a booking officer, I fingerprinted, photographed and obtained information needed to book the inmate properly. Submitted my paperwork for a transfer to bailiff in August of 2008. As a bailiff, I was assigned to the Division "E" courtroom. My duties were to maintain security of the courtroom, writing out court slips, making sure the courtroom rules were followed at all times. Was in charge taking care of the jury during a jury trial. Arrested individuals with outstanding warrants when needed. Assisted court personnel with the set up of the audio and video equipment used during pretrial and trial procedures. Assisted the records department in answering various phone lines, scanning documents into the system and assisted with filing various documents in their proper place. Serving of various court paperwork to their designee and assisted the Community Services Section with making random home checks on probationers.

Opened files once they were screened. (Assigned a docket number, typed up a bill of information, filed said bill of information and set future court dates) Typed and filed various motions as instructed by the attorneys. Transcribed tapes of various interviews with witnesses. Assisted attorneys in preparing for various trials by speaking to the witnesses and visiting crime scenes, etc. Assisted with the picking of jurors in the prospective trials. Answered multiple phone lines and dealt with various law enforcement offices, as well as the public.
