My interest in caregiving started at a young age. My mother owned a daycare in our home, where I was exposed to children everyday. At 13 years old, I received my first independent babysitting job where I took care of two toddlers in their home on as to need basis. 7 years later my experience and knowledge of caring for children has expanded. Besides to attending Suffolk Community College full time, I balance my "spare" time babysitting for a few families on a set weekly schedule and babysit those occasional date nights. My older sister is a Behavior Consultant for children with Autism and I join in when she takes her students on special outings- its amazing how seeing them not so often, the impact they have made on my life.

I take care of a 60 year old man with Cerebral Palsy.
Depending when the mother requests, I take him out for the day traveling on the ABLE ride since he is in a wheelchair.
Prior to leaving his home- I groom him, feed him, dress him, and get him ready for our outing. I also assist him with the bathroom in the home and out.
The outings consist of going out for lunch, shopping, and play games together.
