  • In both districts, I have served as the LEA for Special Education meetings. I assist our Special Education director on planning, implementing and assuring protocol is being followed
  • I have scheduled all substitute teachers for both districts I have served
  • I serve as the High School curriculum coordinator. I work with our Superintendent to ensure quality professional development is offered to our teachers and staff. I also have worked with the Central and Northwest regional RPDC representatives to plan, schedule, and provide out-of-district professional development for all teachers
  • I served as the district transportation director at Tina-Avalon and currently assist the Superintendent with the same duties at Grundy County. I also hold all credentials to operate all school buses including buses with air brakes. I have headed and assisted the scheduling of all trips (athletic, activity, etc.) for our teams, groups, and classes
  • I am currently a Basketball official for MSHSAA. With this role I have had the opportunity to meet and collaborate with many different administrators, coaches, and communities. Basketball officiating allows me to work with a variety of administrators with scheduling and contract obligations. Working as a basketball official also has allowed me to wok with students and coaches about different aspects of the game. I have been evaluated numerous times in my three year career as an official and have had many positive comments about my ability to call the game efficiently and in a calm, controlled manner
Accomplishments
  • I have implemented programs and procedures to greatly improve the overall operations of each school district that I have been a leader in. Programs and procedures I have helped implement include:
  • Grundy County: Worked with SOCS, website support company, to create a district website. This allowed me to work closely with our school business teacher in creating a website for our district that was non-existent. Working with SOCS, we also created a school district app
  • Grundy County: Created a Facebook page in order to showcase what our students and teachers are accomplishing
  • Grundy County: Worked with our business education teacher on re-branding our school mascot/image
  • Grundy County: Re-structured our "stucco" to create a more student-driven leadership team. "PEP" was created using student and teacher feedback
  • Grundy County/Tina-Avalon: Modified the MS/HS schedule to increase student success by offering courses to better align with their goals and to offer critical intervention time
  • Tina-Avalon: Reached out to local bank to support the cost of Textcaster to help with school communication. BTC Bank (Carrollton) agreed to sponsor our Textcaster program
  • Tina-Avalon: Created and collaborated with a teacher committee to install SW-PBS K-12. This created a more positive environment for our students and teachers
  • Tina-Avalon: Integrated "Pathways Reading Program. Attended training with elementary teachers to increase student reading phonics success
  • Tina-Avalon: Initiated the school districts 1:1 technology enhancement. Worked with Superintendent and BOE to integrate Chromebooks and iPads for all students. Attended Google training to help enhance the administrative aspects of 1:1
