I had become interested in Radiology at the early age of sixteen after being x-rayed for exostosis of the left knee. I found myself trying to understand what the x-ray film meant and how they determined surgical approaches through the examination of the films. Later in life I found myself receiving multiple x-rays from skateboard-related injuries and had experienced forms of radiographic imaging that I had not yet known about and I found myself wanting to know more. I received my Radiologic Technology Degree from NHTI in 2016 and spent 2 years of internship at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, OR. I plan to continue my learning to one day become a Doctor of Radiology.
During my time spent at Portsmouth Regional Hospital I assisted the Food & Nutrition department with assembling, transporting, delivering, and retrieving completed food trays to and from patients throughout the hospital. I learned how to interact with various patients in a professional matter, and provided them with the care and attention they needed with their meals. I learned the importance of prioritizing when arranging trays to be delivered in order of the time the slip was printed. I also learned the importance of multitasking in a fast paced environment when assembling trays and communicating with the team about the trays.
