Something interesting about me and my career is that my motivation was having to go through a physical therapy process due to an accident that my father had in 2021 and this led me to realize that is what I really want to do for the rest of my life.

We know that the last decades of our lives have revolved around innovation. Our environment depends on two essential things, science, and technology. Around the world, we can observe a large number of sick children, children who in their first seconds of life, in their first breaths, already depend on a machine, professionals, and doctors who hold their lives in their hands. I know this all too well. Upon birth, I was diagnosed with transient tachypnea, a respiratory disorder which means I was at high-risk during the first 48 hours of my life and therefore, Doctors held my faith in their hands. I am grateful to be able to tell you about this experience. I admire the medical profession immensely and aspire to have a career as a Physical Therapist with an emphasis in Pediatrics.) Besides the life-changing experience I had upon birth, I was fortunate to have a dedicated Biology teacher in high school, Natalia Franco, who inspired me with her creative teaching and always encouraged me to realize my full potential in the field of science. Since I was a child, I have always been very curious. My family considers me to be a creative person, always looking for alternatives and creative solutions to problems. In high school, I excelled in Mathematics and Biology. I believe that my academics, along with the connection I have with children, and my sensitive personality, are great qualities for an aspiring medical professional.

My parents have always pushed me to value education because they had many siblings and had limited opportunities for education. Because of the values they taught me, I learned to take everything I do seriously and to give my 100% effort into every single thing I do. After twelve years of living in Costa Rica, I am moving back to the United States to pursue an undergraduate degree.
