TEACHER
Professional Summary

I have instructed a wide variety of subjects including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and History for several years. I am extremely hard-working, dedicated, and knowledgeable about the correct use of the English language in reading, writing, and oral form. I am exceptional at correcting pronunciation, grammar, identifying idioms, and helping students with their accents. I have taught at an extremely culturally- diverse institution for the past five years which has provided me with the skills required to instruct students who are English language learners.

I have lived and studied abroad where I had the opportunity to learn a second language. I attended the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico where I studied the Spanish language and Mexican culture. As a result, I am familiar with the techniques required to teach a second language along with some of the challenges students usually encounter. I am patient, flexible, and adaptable as I too understand how challenging it can be learning a foreign language. I believe in making my students comfortable, encouraging learning from mistakes, and my classes focus on increasing 'student talk time.'

I have a Master's degree in International Education, Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Middle-Eastern and Islamic Studies. I earned a Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education. I believe I will make a valuable addition your team. I look forward to providing students with an enjoyable and engaging experience as they pursue proficiency in the English language.
