Prepare and maintain the vessel to which they are assigned for safe and complete loading and discharging of oil and other petrochemical product.
Make certain that any and all required documents that must accompany vessels and cargo are on board and in proper order.
Handle lines and rigging during tow building, locking, and docking activities.
Ensure that each person participating in the transfer of the product understands what the product is and how it should be transferred and protected
Assist others on the vessel in preparing barges for the loading and discharging of cargoes.
Build tows by handling lines and cables to tie and untie barges and boats.
Perform scheduled vessel maintenance, care for tools and equipment, and perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.
Move and install machinery.
Work with prefabricated buildings.
Build stairs, mantles, and furniture.
Install cabinets and molding.
Remodel homes and businesses.
Create structures for pouring concrete.
Erect scaffolding.
Build tunnel bracing.
Build concrete forms for tunnel or sewer construction project.
Move and install machinery.
Pour samples into bottles and routes samples to laboratory for analysis.
Examines petroleum during transfer into receiving tank.
Consults calibration tables to determine quantity of products.
