Experience
11/2018 to Current
Senior Scientist Eurofins Scient. Spring House, PA,
  • Leading physical characterizations studies; developing novel methodologies and assays for characterization of biologics, including but not limited to their physical stability, determination of particle size, thermal analysis, formulation effects and aggregation; developing SOP and protocols for assays and operation of state of the art instrumentations, resulting in growth of department with new programs.
  • Independently planning, designing and conducting experiments for characterization of physical properties of biological material while managing several projects simultaneously; adapting and employing new experimental approaches as needed based on R&D needs.
  • Conducting formulation studies of biologics and testing these formulations for their physical stability, including the statistical analysis and interpretation of data to drive decisions.
02/2018 to 11/2018
Research Scientist Amazon Saline, MI,
  • Hands-on experience on planning, designing and performing/screening aggregation study of biologics, including particle sizing, protein-protein interactions and structural evaluation, using light scattering and fluorescence spectroscopy approaches.
  • Developed a program for investigation of physical stability including prediction of protein- protein and protein-excipients interactions and determination of size and structure of aggregates.
08/2016 to 02/2018
Postdoctoral Fellow George Mason University Fairfax, VA,
  • Extensive hands-on experience with physical characterization and purification of therapeutic proteins, implementing a broad range of approaches including, but not limited to CD, light scattering, fluorescence spectroscopy, AUC, UV-Vis & IR spectroscopy, SEC, HPLC, AFM, TEM… Developed an instrumental method for determination of tau protein stability using light scattering and fluorescence spectroscopy, resulting in increase of efficiency by 30% compare to previous protocol used, decreasing the time spent in this task and increasing the amount of data produced.
  • Independently derived projects from inception to completion; planed & executed goal scientific experiments, prepared technical memos, analytical methods, protocols, SOPs, publications, and oral presentations at internal and external meetings, which helped to develop good writing/oral skills and kept abreast of scientific development in the field.
12/2010 to 02/2016
Research Assistant Carnegie Mellon University Arlington, VA,
  • Demonstrated in vitro conditions for the first time a novel approach for revealing the molecular mechanism of amyloid polymerization from natively folded protein near physiological conditions.
  • Constantly trained and supported other personnel on techniques and equipment while participating in inter-departmental task teams, resulting in 2 successfully accomplished inter- departmental projects, each resulting in a published peer-reviewed article.
  • Hands-on experience with physical/mechanical characterization of biological materials/biopolymers, exploring their structure, size, morphology and their aggregation propensities, using a wide range of techniques: DLS, CD, FTIR, fluorescence spectrophotometer, nanoparticle tracking analyses (NTA), AFM, and TEM.
