Over 17 years of various experiences within Information Technology. My career began with teaching gifted students basic HTML and web scripting; from here I became a technical writer, web designer, developer, senior software engineer, analyst, and senior project manager. The breadth of my experience has given me a holistic view of IT - I have a comprehensive understanding of project planning, development, testing, and environment implementations.

Senior Programmer/Analyst November 2016 to CurrentRegions Bank
As part of an effort to spearhead Robotics Process Automation within the bank, I worked with our Six Sigma team and business unit to design, build, and implement a robotics solution combining both Kapow and Foxtrot RPA technology.
The solution allowed for the reassignment of 3 FTEs within the Agency Collection organization and eliminated a perpetual backlog of more than a month's worth of mainframe data entry.
For this effort, our team received an IT award as well as corporate recognition.
Automated Flood Determinations.
Designed a web based application for ordering flood determinations on new construction.
As part of this system I created a RESTful service to be used on demand by the host application as well as a separate workflow engine through which communication with an outside vendor and internal staff is managed.
During testing, we have seen a vast improvement in the amount of time and, thus, orders processed daily.
Senior Software Engineer July 2012 to March 2015Protective Life, Birmingham
Policy Tracker (PTO)
Within the first month of employment with Protective, I was given lead development responsibilities with our primary enterprise CRM tool, PTO.
This is an in-house software initiative that uses classic asp.net technology.
I took ownership of the application and quickly wrote a root cause analysis of both system and process issues that were working to create an unreliable and often unstable application.
After vetting my analysis and plan of remediation with our Architectural Council I worked with our Business Analyst and Business Operations personnel to bring our various business units into the fold.
We worked to earn their trust through the PTO Mailroom Consolidation project in which we both increased our user base and added significant volume of records to the PTO system.
This project was successful because of buy-into a modified plan that incorporated a technical separation of concerns via a modernized and expanded PTO Service Layer (WCF).
Immediately following the Mailroom Consolidation project we moved on updating/upgrading the underpinning system architecture.
The core of this effort included upgrading the .net version, implementing new Windows Servers, and updating the SQL Server.
In addition, we took the opportunity to reinforce the security surrounding PTO by utilizing service accounts for all environments with both Model and Production environment passwords purposely withheld from anyone but Protective IT security personnel.
Finally, after observing use patterns and load, I determined with production control's assistance a means to isolate each primary user group within the server - effectively giving each group their own pool of technical resources independent of each other without compromising a security.
The result was a stabilized system.
net 3.5, IIS 7.
Alchemy, New CMS web client
I have played a key role in designing the new "wizard" interface and back-end architecture for the CMS replacement application.
In addition, I functioned as a team lead for this particular application and have worked to create work assignments and "sprints" to move the application along within a defined timeline for delivery.

Special Projects as a Developer with Protective:.
During the summer of 2013 I was approached by the Protective PMO and asked if I could step in and run an industry mandated actuarial report.
The project required identifying and pulling together a diverse team of experts to pull product information into a meaningful format.
I spent the last quarter of 2013 and first quarter of 2014 running the Microsoft Dynamics DRM project for our PMO.
This project created a customer lead management system for our Cincinnati sales office.
When I inherited the project it was falling way off course.
I quickly identified actionable areas within Protective and created a plan to remedy our shortcomings.
Primarily the work focused upon organizing production control teams with a heavy focus upon security certification.
In addition to our team the project was using a third party vendor (Hitachi, formerly Customer Effective).
When it looked as if we were spinning costs well beyond original allotments I identified a point of negotiation based upon the original scope document with the vendors and was able to cap expenses.
The project finished in a timely fashion within budget and has been used with much enthusiasm.
During the summer of 2014 I was asked by IT Application Development to visit our Brentwood office and all of our Birmingham Virtual Desktop User Teams to analyze reported problems.
Ultimately I determined that there was one area in which AppDev could make effective changes and worked with production control teams in diagnosing issues.
Senior Project Manager March 2012 to October 2016Protective Life, Birmingham
SQL Migration Project.
Working with diverse teams spreading across Database Administration, Server Control, Software Development, and Business Units I created a plan to both upgrade and migrate our SQL technology into a more modern and more easily maintained environment.
The realized savings for the company is over $800,000 annually.
In addition to the savings I have worked to deliver an ongoing maintenance strategy that includes a comprehensive inventory of current SQL databases, servers, and platform versions - something that did not exist prior to beginning the project.
Single Claims System Project.
Working with Software Development and Business Units I am working to create a plan to create a single claims system through which all claims may be processed.
This effort requires coordination between multiple teams spread across a wide geographical area.
In addition to logistic challenges, the project is ambitious in that it is working to discover undocumented rules and their commonalities across different product lines acquired through acquisition.
