Work with the Community Resources Manager, acts as a sponsor to a specific inmate group activity. In addition to regular employment within the institution, a Self-Help Sponsor performs the necessary supervising tasks in a designated area; associated with volunteer inmate group activities such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Literacy, Veterans In Prison, etc.; takes complete charge of and is responsible for all activities within the designated area and for the time period allotted to such activity; secures space, equipment, materials and other items necessary to carry out the functions of the activity; takes periodic counts of inmates when required; secures all activity areas when not in use; promotes acceptable attitudes and behavior of inmates supervised.
