While I have not had an extensive work history and am currently retired from nursing, I have always been engaged in a variety of worthwhile endeavors. Throughout my time as a stay at home parent, I have always been engaged in outside activities often involving my family, community and church. Throughout my volunteer efforts, I have lead small women's groups as well as couple groups. I have been involved in youth ministry, school volunteer, sports team coordinator and hospitality director for our church requiring the set up and organization of weekly catering as well as leadership and coordination of the hospitality team. I completed the role as sole director for the hospitality team at Wheaton Academy in 2011 which required planning, organizing and implementing a teacher's appreciation luncheon for 225 staff members. I have been a part of hospitality programs that provide meals to individual families in need as well as planning and implementing meals for approximately 40 people for the Alpha program. Although my education background is in nursing, my volunteer efforts have often revolved around hospitality. I am diligent and hard working, excel in my organizational abilities and genuinely enjoy interacting with people. As my husband and I have settled in to become permanent residents and have come to love our community, I desire to become more involved and look forward to working with people who share my passion for our local community and desire to support and contribute to our local businesses.
