RETIRED
Summary

I have 27 years combined work experience in the Health Care, Public Safety and Military, dealing with General Public and Incarcerated Felons.  I have worked as U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman, a Paramedic and as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, in Military and Civilian capacities. I performed my medical duties successfully and within the Scope of Practice for each licensure.   I began a career with the California Department of Corrections in 1990 in a hybrid classification of a Correctional Facility Nurse and Peace Officer, formerly known as a Correction's Facility Medical Technical Assistant (MTA).  I worked at Sierra Conservation Camp in Sonora, California and Pelican Bay State Prison, in Crescent City, CA.  During my time working in the MTA classification, I was a First and Second Line supervisor known as a Senior MTA and Health Program Manager (descriptions detailed below).  In 2006 the Correctional Facility MTA classification was eliminated by the Federal Court due to conflict of a dual Nurse and Peace Officer classification.  I was lateral over to Correctional Sergeant and promoted to Correctional Lieutenant within 10 months.  My career choices have given me much experience in dealing with highly stressful and intense situations, with a calm and professional demeanor.  It has allowed me to think quickly and chose the best resolution when dealing problematic situations and incidences.  Because of my versatility of jobs, I am able to proficiently multitask, effectively communicate, and manage a wide variety of people's personalities and behavior, including those with Mental Health Disorders.  I am very thorough and capable in research and investigation of criminal activity or misconduct utilizing at variety of sources.  I am experienced in using documentation, physical evidence, collection of eye witness testimony, reliable confidential informant testimony, subject interview, video or photo evidence, and all other relative resources.  After I collect the needed information I am able to combine that material into a detailed, Report of Findings.  My career selections have made me a people oriented person, with both verbal and writing skills sufficient to meet any employer's needs.  I am always motivated, well organized and willing to help others, and like planning and implementing new ideas for areas of need.
