Professional Summary

When I was in High school, I was in the community a lot. I was in a community-known and nationally recognized Choir program which did a lot of charity and events. We sang in the public for major events known throughout the community. We were the group that was asked to perform at the events because of our presence in the community for years before. During these years, I was always someone that would lead the group or get involved with the people hosting the event in order to make sure that everything went as planned and I was always counted on to make sure that something was done the right way. This group gave me the community experience I needed in order to do what I needed to do to succeed in what I dreamed for myself. Because of this experience, I have shown myself that I can do anything that I set my mind to and I will make sure that I am the best I can be for those around me in my career and anywhere I go.

In my brief professional career, I have been fortunate to learn from gifted managers and leaders.

I have learned to earnestly listen while better understanding people with diverse temperaments, talents and convictions. I have been routinely praised for my ability to adapt to new environments and gain proficiency in new skill sets.

I have been progressively given greater responsibility in my jobs. This included handling money and other opening/closing responsibilities.

I take pride in my communication skills. I have found, in my professional career, that active listening and effective communication can resolve many complaints and concerns. As an employee, I believe myself to be a brand ambassador for the company and every customer interaction, for good or ill, directly reflects on the organization.

Most of my work experience has been in customer service, and I feel this will benefit me as I transition into the field of law enforcement as the heart of nearly every law enforcement encounter is effective communication.

Work History
03/2021 to Current Range employee Rely Services | Schaumburg, IL,

With the little time I have been here, I have learned so much from working with people who are different from any other place I have worked.

I continue to handle money and sell items to people in order for them to have a fun and safe time at our gun range. One thing I am learning is to watch over the people who are shooting at the range in order to keep everyone safe. As a young woman in a traditionally male-dominated industry, I’ve embraced the challenge of learning from my co-workers and have gained a wealth of experience in the process. This has ultimately given me greater resilience and increased my desire to do what I can to make myself a valuable member of this team. I learn more and more each day to make sure everyone has a fun and safe experience.

08/2017 to Current Office Assistant Milio's Sandwiches | Minneapolis, MN,

Cal-Neva Environmental Systems is a commercial construction company that specialized in HVAC and electrical contracting. My father has worked here for over 30 years, so when I was given this job, I knew my performance would be a direct reflection on him. My duties consisted of interacting with customers both in person and over the telephone, computer data entry, filing paperwork, sorting mail, and handling deposits.

I did a lot of large quantity money handling and was given trust to make sure that everything that was put in the system correctly.

I have never had a bad customer service experience with the company. It was important to me and my coworkers that every customer had a good experience.

When I go back to California, whether it is in the Summer or a break from school, I continue to help the company in any way possible

02/2020 to 03/2021 Crew Member Milio's Sandwiches | Middleton, WI,

At Raising Canes, I talked to a lot of people throughout each and every day. I was always in the window either collecting money, talking to customer, and giving them anything they needed or at the front counter greeting people and making sure they had a great time at the restaurant.

I gained a lot of communication skills here because I dealt with all kinds of customers. I learned how to change my demeanor when talking to different people in-regards-to age, if they were in a group or by themselves, or even when you could tell how their day was going. I made sure that I was in good spirits when helping someone with what they needed.

08/2016 to 08/2017 Crew Member Chick-fil-A | City, STATE,

Chick Fil A was my first job which made me learn so much about communicating with customers and co-workers. It was my first experience learning about the different people you may encounter.

I pride myself on being someone you can come to for help or assistance which I developed with this experience. I learned how to talk to people in a respectful way, how to address people I may not know, and how to deal with situations. My communication skills excelled from this job since it really pushed me to talk to hundreds of people every hour.

There were times where people didn’t get what they ordered or got handed the wrong amount of change back so dealing with things like that were hard for me especially never doing it before made me learn really quickly how to handle it.

This job is where I learned that I could pick things up fairly quickly when doing it for a while. I learned that I could count money quickly, speak in a loud and punctual tone so that it is easy for my message to get across to others, and I could think on my feet when something came up.

Even thought this was my first job and it was many years ago, I was able to learn so much from it and I still continue to use the skills I learned in my everyday life.

Expected in 05/2022 to to Bachelors of Science | Criminal Justice University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, OK GPA:

I have been enrolled at the University, (UCO) since the Fall of 2019. I chose to live in the dorms my first year to make friends and be around those in the same field of study as myself. Since I was brand new to Oklahoma, I knew it would be hard for me to make friends if I was busy with schoolwork the whole time. I have and am still meeting so many great classmates and professors that have made my experience here the best it could be. I joined the Delta Zeta sorority to hopefully meet a more diverse group of people to add to my circle of friends. I learned about all the things they do for the community and I thought it would be perfect for me to get some experience while being here and at school. Sadly, I joined right when COVID-19 hit the United States which stopped our involvement in the different things we do in the community so I knew my experiences would be little to none. I wanted to get more involved so when it was time for our new Executive Board, girls in the sorority chose me to be the secretary for the next coming year. I ended up not getting the position and having to go Emergency Alumni due to family and financial issues that came up out of nowhere. With many more years to go, I hope to get more involved in other things on campus like the Criminal Justice Club I am in and be more involved in the Student Academy of Forensic Science. I hope to get my masters at UCO as well and further my career and opportunities with my education.

Expected in 05/2019 to to Associate of Arts | Administration of Justice Diablo Valley College, Pleasant Hill, CA GPA:

I spent a lot of time at this school on my studies. I worked very hard to get the best grades possible in order to transfer to my University of choice. At first, a degree in Administration of Justice was not chosen field of study. That is until a friend of mine asked me to sign up for a class with him. I enjoyed these classes so much that when it came time for me to choose a major, I knew it had to be Criminal Justice related. Then I found UCO, and I knew it was the school for me. I also have multiple people in my life with careers in law enforcement. So, before I realized I wanted to have a career in it, I already knew a little bit about it. I graduated with a GPA of 3.4 and was awarded Academic Honors in my last semester which showed me that this was the right step for me.
