Successfully led the development and implementation of a transformation model of school reform from 2010 to 2014 leading to improvements in students’ academic achievement, including:
  • An average increase of 18 percentage points in the number of students scoring proficient or above in each of the content areas on the Michigan Merit Exam.
  • A 2.8 point increase in the average student composite ACT score as well as an average 18.9 percentage point increase in the number of students meeting college- and career-ready benchmarks in the areas of math, science, English, and reading.

2006 to Current Principal Eversana | Atlanta, GA,
  • Provide leadership, service, and supervision for a rural school serving approximately 600 students in grades six through twelve, with 66% of students classified as economically disadvantaged, 16% of students in special education, and 6% English Language Learners.
  • I serve as an advocate for all Bloomingdale Middle and High School students and staff through open communication, thoughtful guidance, inclusive planning, and focused attention to our mission of developing critical thinkers who strengthen their communities through academic ability and character.
  • Served as the district's Director of State and Federal Programs, writing the district's Consolidated Application for Title funds, managing all Title budgets, and 
  • Lead school improvement team in conducting building-level annual comprehensive needs assessment and development of written school improvement plan.  
  • Delivered comprehensive district-wide Common Core mathematics implementation training as part of a 9-person team of teachers and administrators. Following implementation in our district, provided similar training at another southwest Michigan school district as part of a 4-person sub-group of the team.
  • Procured a $475,000 Safe and Supportive Schools Grant to be utilized over a four-year period for the purpose of implementing a coordinated school health approach to improve students' well-being and support their academic achievement.
  • Assisted in reducing the overall district budget over the past five years by more than $1 million by consolidating departments, reducing staff, and improving operating efficiency.
  • Coordinated the development, oversight, and management of annual building budget.
  • Cooperatively led the implementation of a comprehensive plan for teacher evaluations as part of the administrative team, while individually designing several key components of the evaluation process.

  • Supervised students and staff and managed the implementation of attendance and discipline policies for a building serving a population of approximately 425 students consisting of over 50% economically disadvantaged students, 10% African American students, and 18% Hispanic students.
  • Led a four-person committee in the development of a comprehensive faculty handbook.
