Summary

Almost 20yrs in EMS, most 911. I have 3 children 21, 17 and 9. I have full custody of my two youngest including raising my nephew who's just turned 17. I've found South Carolina my second home in 2000 when I came here to visit my Real dad who lived in Lexington SC.

I moved to South Carolina from Michigan were I was raised for most of my childhood on a dairy farm with my 4 older brothers learning about hard work from a young age. My stepdad who raised me was the Sheriff for the County as since then I had always been drawn to public safety type work.

I've always had an interest in helping others, it wasn't until I was 29/30 when I went to EMT class, then months later the same year on to EMT Intermediate class and then Paramedic Class the following year. Before then I was a diesel mechanic and worked in the oil field.

I feel I can bring an open mind and ideas when asked and warranted to the table. I enjoy learning new and or better ways things are done.

I've always enjoyed working night shifts before moving to 24/72s, I feel they provide different call types and volumes, different opportunities for the kind of employee that wants to and thrives on nights.

I am looking to be at a place that provides employees with opportunities for advancement, a place that cares about it's employees, the type you can see from many of its tenured people.

Prior to working at Medshore Anderson I had never considered leaving or looking to leave Newberry County EMS, not until I began working in Anderson, the experienced employees, they way most have worked together, how the Medshore, the area Rescue Squads including fire service and LE all work together was a pleasure to see.

I appreciate your consideration with my interest in the position.
