This was my first job. Which meant it was my first step into handling money and creating sales for the News Paper Business.
I started with 40 deliveries on my first day. By 2 months I had gain 15 more houses to the route which it was a good number since most of them had a membership with us in the past. On my last day I had the whole neighborhood and most of the apparments which equaled to 87 houses.
Every month I had to collect the membership money from the people that did not do autopay which developed my networking skills in the coming months.
I did make employee of the week and month. For the month of November thru February which were the hardest months because of the snowy and cold days.
This job required dedication and time management from the moment I started to the moment I resigned.
It all began with working in the balcony. As a cook making the candy that required working with numbers and great communication skills with other sections of the balcony so everything would be made on time. I executed this task with perfection.
So Ia followed to become a machine operator which is task that required patience and a Sharp tooth. This came with a lot of responsibility since I was in charged of the machines that would deposit the merchandise. This also required me to work 16 hrs at a time with no sleep but it was a job that kept me on a constant pace and it brought a lot of responsibility.
I eventually got to be an operations manager that inquired my undivided attention. My job required Microsoft skills, team management skills, and leadership skills. I would create reports and schedules on daily task that had to be adapted to everyone's schedule in the company. I also would make charts and document the daily stats on production.
Within this job I acquired some very valuable skills.
Alorica is number one in customer service which allowed me to work with customers and clients. When I started, I was required to take a 6 week training class and 3 week nesting for Verizon home which was a very important client. This client focused from billing thru sales and even techsupport. But it mostly was focused on Billing or sales depending on your what was the strength of the representatives.
I personally had a good sales record and a good client satisfaction record. Working for Verizon required really good communication skills, we were required to offer and sale on every call. This sometimes was difficult when you had clients that were upset. This was another skill that was very important which was de-escalating. Which we had to calm and listen to the customer and solve the problem with in the call.
On the daily I would speak to over 120 calls but on busy days around 150. Every call had to be under 563 seconds. Obviously when it came to sales it would take longer since we had packages and we had to adapt to their liking and what was affordable to them at the time. But when I came down to billing all we had to was explain the bill read the charges and sometimes take things of their contract to lower the bill. This conclude my job at Alorica when I worked for the Verizon contract.
The following contract was H&R Block. For them I was only making appointments for either loans or taxes but this required a soft skill to convincethat we were the right company to choose from. What made the contract different from Verizon is that it was outbound calls instead of inbound. So sometimes you would get upset customers because we would call at inportune times.
