I am extremely committed with everything I decide to do. No matter how big or small it is or how important it might seem to be. When I dedicated myself to studying, for instance, I was always top of the class. My parents inculcated the importance of always giving my best.
When working as a Graphic Designer at the Catholic University of Uruguay (2003-2006) I notoriously improved the level and quality of design coming from the Communication Department (for instance the designing of all posters, brochures, flyers, etc.) helping them acquire a more professional level. I also assisted them in other areas of communication despite that not being part of my responsibilities.
Before that, when I was still a freshman in College (studying Social Communication) I decided to join a team of students with the mission to create an Advertising Campaign for a NGO that worked with homeless children in Uruguay. The campaign was intended to raise the level of public consciousness concerning the situation of many children living or working in the streets (not necessarily homeless), and help revert that situation. Despite having very little or no experience as publicists or producers we managed to create a very convincing and professional campaign (we did everything from the brainstorming to the production), achieving a lot of notoriety in the media. We were publicly recognized by the University authorities and we won several first prizes in the 9th Latinamerican Congress "Communication Frontiers" (Congreso Latinoamericano “Fronteras de la
Comunicacion”) organized by FELECS and the "Asociacion Baja California de
Estudiantes de Comunicacion" (Baja California Students of Communication Association) in Tijuana, Mexico.
In 2002, when I was still Pipe Major of the Riverside Pipe Band of Uruguay, I co-organized along with another member of the band, the First South American Pipe Band Gathering. Once again I took on the endeavor of putting forward something that seemed to much for only one person to handle. Despite that I managed to organize the event flawlessly. I took on the whole responsibility, from designing the whole communication campaign to all aspects of production of the event (lodging, transportation, catering, obtaining permits, dealing with contractors and media, security, etc, etc).
Later on in 2007 when we decided to start our sushi delivery business in San Luis, Argentina, we were facing a very difficult scenario: introducing a new ethnic food option in a small town where very few people ever consumed anything different from BBQ (known as "asados" in Argentina) or other Argentinean traditional foods. Despite that we decided to move on with our project and we managed to successfully introduce sushi in an otherwise very conservative society. We became the first sushi delivery in San Luis, Argentina, and we are proud to say that we served the best sushi in the region. We even catered at the dinner party of the newly elected Governor of the Province of San Luis.
In other words, I always try to apply the knowledge and experience I've acquired during my lifetime into every job, project or responsibility I've assumed in order to achieve the best results.
