I am responsible for building plans for the Warehouse department so we can successfully pull the freight we need to send to the stores we service.
I manage the performance of my shift, coach and give feedback to team members.
I look at the needs of the other departments in the building and staff team members to either pull freight or take freight to and from those departments.
I monitor the availability of open locations in the warehouse to determine whether we need to expand and open up locations or contract so I can create more efficiency for the individuals pulling freight.
I oversee the handling of environmentally sensitive material in the warehouse to ensure we are following the regulations around that material.

I ensured the trailer where loaded in reverse order so the freight was pulled off of the trailer in order of deliveries.

I was responsible for weighing cartons of textured yarn to ensure accurate pricing to the purchaser.
I was also responsible for checking the packaging of the yarn so it was free of defects or damage.
I loaded the cartons onto a pallet and staged them for warehouse to take away and place in rack locations.
Operational Group Leader
In that role I was responsible to overseeing a department and shift of roughly twenty five employees.
As an Operational Group Leader I took on additional roles.
I was a Certified Executive Trainer where I was responsible for training new Group Leaders.
I was capacity captain where I was responsible for monitoring warehouse location.
I was also a Production Controller.
In that role I created plans for all four operational departments and monitored the performance of the building to ensure a steady flow of freight through the distribution center.
I have also been a safety POC.
In that role I was responsible for observing unsafe behaviors and giving feedback and working with the safety team on way to make the building a safer environment.
I have Managed five different teams in my time with Target.
Each of those teams has been successful and has ended the year positive to budget.
With three of those teams I was able to increase the performance of the team by engaging the teams around business objectives and working with them on efficient processes to do their jobs.
Each of those teams also increased their safety record through coaching and awareness of safety issues.
I also lead my teams through use of best practices.
The teams were able to increase productivity and decrease defects by following the best practices for their jobs.
I have mentored several Group Leaders where I was responsible for helping them find balance between running a successful business and creating a positive culture on their teams.
