Dear Jan Cole,
I'm sending you this today because I am interested in being a part of the Westshire team. I heard through a sped teacher at the school that a woman was leaving in January and you guys were looking for someone to fill it. I feel this position would be a carreer starter for me. The position I'm in now is that I'm pregnant. I am due May 19th. I was going to be looking for work in the fall but when I heard about this opening I just couldn't help but ask. I've worked with kids a lot in my previous jobs; almost always kids and horses. Horses are my passion. I'm currently in my senior year of Equine Studies at Vermont Technical College. Once I graduate I will have a bachelors in Science. Because I've chosen to have this baby I need to start thinking about securing our future. That is why I've come to you! I need a job with benefits, one with consistant and reasonable hours. I think I would be very happy at this job. I worked with many kids over the years from babysitting to horseback riding lessons. Babysitting was job that I had throughout high school, I had many clients that I kept for several years. I aided at a barn in Middlesex. I was a counceler that worked one on one with a child, most of the time autistic, and we worked on the fundamentals of horse care and riding. I've taught quite a few lessons from then on. I liked teaching younger children because they were more open to the new concepts, but I also taught some teenagers. The hardest was teaching adults who are not so open minded anymore! Lastly I think I can be a good Paraprofessional because I was on an IEP all through school because I had dyslexia. If it weren't for my aids I would not have had the motivation and now the skills to not only get through college but get good grades as well. I believe I can be that motivator. In the next few pages is my resume, I have not included every job I've had, I'd be happy to do so if you are interested. I hope that these credentials are adequate for this job, I'm more than willing to put in the work that's needed. I need a sturdy job. Although I will not be able to work the full spring school year this year I'm hoping we could work something out and I'd return in the fall (or late summer if that's how the teaching hours work?). I'd like to meet for an interview as soon as your willing. I'm working at Hannafords right now as a transitioning job until I find a job like this one. Currently I'm getting to work at 4 in the morning and working 8 hours. Though it's nice to get out at noon it's running me ragged being pregnant and after the baby comes those hours will no longer be convenient. I hope you consider me when looking for a person to fill this position, I will fallow up in a week with another email or phone call to see if you have reviewed my resume and what you're thoughts were. If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to ask. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your consideration.
