Inspirational individual who is passionate about teaching others about the importance of natural health. Although I don't have my degree yet, I would consider myself well-rounded in my knowledge with nutrition, etc. There's always something to learn and I believe the best way to gain knowledge and gratitude is by conversing with other individuals.
I believe I am a very sociable person and can easily get along with anyone. I enjoy engaging in conversations with others and meeting new people, especially when the conversation is about nutrition and holistic remedies. I work well under pressure and can Multi-task as I have had to in previous jobs. I take any task I am asked to do very seriously and believe the customer always comes first. Every job is a opportunity to branch out and gain new knowledge.
I took this job because of the opportunity it provides for my major. Being a nutrition assistant makes an individual competitive against applicants when applying for a dietetic internship. However, I had no idea what it would it would be like to work in a hospital and it has confirmed where my heart is when it comes to health care and nutrition. My problem with modern (western) medicine is that doctors don't know the slightest about nutrition and order supplements such as ensure, glucerna, etc., for the patients in order to up their circulating vitamin and mineral levels. Unfortunately these supplements are chock full of sugar, artificial flavorings, preservatives, gmo's. and much more. Food is medicine, herbs are meant for remedies, and pills that cause more harm than good need to be reconsidered by the general public. I do believe modern medicine has its time and place, such as in an emergency, but I think holistic health care should be priority when looking at preventative care.
I was part of a team that delivered fresh smoothies and acai bowl to customers blended with all fresh ingredients. My job as an employee was to make sure I made accurate amounts of everything and was held responsible to get them in the customers hands as fast as possible. During the summer of 2014 I was promoted to shift leader of the food truck and was responsible for occasionally finding employees who could work certain shifts. I was also expected to show up to every event.
I would open and close the store on my own and was responsible for getting smoothies and juices out to the customers within a short period of time.
At corner bakery I participated in the typical work any restaurant would require. I worked cashier, added finishing touches to plates, delivered meals, and provided friendly customer service.
