I interned and/or specialized in Diabetic Foot care in 2001 and always maintained a clinic specializing in this area at least 4 or 8 hour per week during my tenure at SLVHC.
Continued to teach in the Diabetes Education Program at SLVHCS focusing on the Diabetic foot care portion of the program, additionally taught Diabetes Medication management, Dietary Requirements of Diabetes Management, "what is diabetes" and Coping with Stress and emotions in Diabetes.

Medical Science Liaisons act as conduits of information about new research developments, clinical trial activities and therapeutic approaches.
The scope of a Medical Science Liaison job includes cultivating and maintaining relationships with academic researchers and thought leaders,
attending conferences and talks, presenting information to pharmaceutical product teams and marketing new therapeutic products to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
MSLs serve as field-based scientific educators and internal scientific resources for Novo Nordisk.
Medical Science Liaisons travel often, work intensively with people at every step of the therapeutic product development process and translate dense, academic information into engaging, persuasive messages.
Field Medical Employees Functions include:
Building relationships between NNI and key diabetes thought leaders, Physicians over a 3 state area.
Formulary presentations and pull through activities in support of managed care and Government.
Identify and recommend appropriate clinical trial sites.
Research duties: Titration assistance training in Liraglutide and Degludec/Degludec plus program.
Concurrent/Simultaneously with the position as an MSL for Novo Nordisk, I kept a "Without Compensation Appointment" (WOC Employee) at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System February 2009-April 2013 in the Ambulatory and Primary Care Out-Patient Diabetes Clinic in New Orleans 8 hours per week.
Novo Nordisk supported their MSL's in maintaining clinical diabetes expertise and allowed up to 8 hours per week of clinical duties outside of NNI responsibilities.
NNI Employees who chose to this were paid/reimbursed by Novo Nordisk, Inc.
and NOT by the facility in which they were employed, hence my "WOC" appointment and continued employment in the care of our Nation's Veterans in SLVHCS.
Additionally and concurrently, I continued Diabetes Education responsibilities in SLVHCS's Diabetes Education Program 1 hour per week.
