Mediator Resume Example

• Family Mediation Pilot Project, 41 hours: Co-mediated sessions with couples who have custody, visitation, and child-support issues along with assets to divide. Took part in sessions with court-ordered parties who were often resistant to participate. Mediation makes space for recognition and empowerment, allowing parties to make successful transitions from rigid resistance to positive and joint decision-making (Primary Mediators: Linda Hendrikson and Sarah Bernhardt Prom)Co-mediated 19 sessions.
• Employment Mediation, 11 hours:
• Case 1- Between a university professor and tenure committee representative, disputing rejected application for tenure; agreement was reached. (Primary Mediators: Talia Tweten and Bob Foss).
• Case 2- Co-mediated case involving USDA employees and representatives. A compromise was reached. (Primary Mediators: Talia Tweten and Bob Foss).
• Case 3 - Dispute over grant money between university research staff. A verbal agreement was reached. (Sole Mediator: Talia Tweten).
• Civil Mediation, 2 hours: Co-mediated financial dispute between two roommates. Mediation led to an understanding between parties as well as financial agreement. This is the only civil case I've mediated. (Primary Mediator: Joan Hawthorn).
• Conflict Skills Group at The Northland Rescue Mission: Co-founded and co-facilitated weekly groups at homeless shelter, Grand Forks, ND. Worked with participants for 4-week intervals on building conflict resolution skills and better understanding of physical, mental, and emotional responses during conflict, January 2011 - 2012.
