  • I act as a liaison between clients, senior staff, and the project team to deliver projects on time and within defined budget and resource restrictions.
  • In many instances, our projects require that I also perform detailed business analysis.
  • I work closely with our programmers, using an iterative and agile approach to development.
  • At each major milestone, we review the scope and specs as a team and then with the clients.
  • I am present at most client/developer meetings and check-ins to assure that the specifications are clearly understood, documented, and realized for the client and the team.
  • Iterative testing is done throughout the life of the application development to assure customer satisfaction and minimize the encounter of system bugs.
  • My team includes four developers and one reporting specialist.
  • Reservation and Billing System (R&B): I acted as a project manager and business analyst for this web-based application, which manages all farm requests, expenses, tasks, invoices, billing, and reporting for both the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station and the Cornell University Agricultural Experiment Station locations.
  • This project encompassed seven distinct farms and five users types.
  • The system increased efficiencies by unifying systems, business processes, and workflows.
  • It facilitated intradepartmental collaboration and identified areas for improvement, such as a decreasing the effort of one fulltime employee from 18 days of effort per quarter to three days.
  • This system enhanced the billing and reservation processes by creating a robust, utilitarian, and stable web-based system.
  • I personally visited all of the farms, reviewed all workflows, and analyzed all user needs.
  • Using my results, I identified the common areas, proposed a streamlined workflow, and established unique requirements.
  • I performed all areas of the project management life cycle for the project, which included testing and a communication plan for the application's roll out across all locations.

  • I then administered this survey within CALS to find all applications, determine their value, and to identify overlap.
  • Based on my analysis, I provided recommendations for existing applications, ratings to eliminate or support applications based on business value and cost ratio.
  • At CALS we eliminated 6 applications based on the study.
  • The pilot group consisted of Student and Academic Services and CALS.
  • The initiative was facilitated by CIT and based on the success of the pilot this initiative was adopted by all major schools and divisions of Cornell.

  • I work directly with IT developers and finance staff to determine all requirements and perform all project management tasks.
  • I acted as a trusted translator of the client's needs between the developers and finance staff, which allowed the developers to solve problems without having to understand all the inside details of OFA's business.
