Accomplishments in depth:
Sales rose by 53% in the first year for Steelz.com. This was accomplished by incorporating email campaigns, social media and customer loyalty rewards. Another reason for the rise in revenue was finding new venues to showcase products. Google Product Listing Ads were an important source for this new revenue. Being limited by our designers we could not sell products on sites like Amazon or Ebay so showcasing our products on Google Shopping was a venue that was acceptable for them and proved profitable for the store. By uploading our inventory straight to Google using an API interface the need for human intervention became unnecessary. The ROI rose 11% by using these tools and strategies.
Gained 7 positions on Google search engine rankings for Steelz.com. When I began at Steelz, they were ranked 11th on Google for key search terms including designer's names. In less than six months Steelz ranked on the first page of the search results, above the fold, for the same search terms. For more competitive designers the challenge was more difficult, however, I began strategically using the designer's different collections as search term targets to improve our rankings for the designers themselves which moved us to the first page, above the fold, for those designers. I also incorporated microdata to assist to this end. We were able to achieve a ranking of 5 or better depending on the specific search term used.
Organic searches rose 12-16% due to incorporating microdata into existing HTML pages, the new search engine rankings and using social media channels to reach customers and maintain customer loyalty. This attributes to the rise in the ROI.
Became PCI Compliant. When I started at Steel Supply the company was not PCI compliant and was unaware of the consequences they could face. I incorporated the proper safety measures that brought the company up to standards.
Analysis Incorporated Google Analytics to begin using past and present results to allow for an educated strategy and build historical data for future use. This allowed me to analyze what campaigns were not working so that we could change the strategy and make better use of our assets..
Marketing Materials: Updated all printed marketing materials to online clickable versions with updated images and reflecting the new location of the second store and warehouse.
