During my shift I stayed abreast of server availability and table turnover to make quick decisions about seating locations. I perform walk throughs during service to monitor the guests experience and advise serving and bussing staff of specific guest needs. I answer all phone calls to schedule and confirm reservations, take to go orders and respond to restaurant questions. I notify servers after seating parties in sections to facilitate prompt service with no wait times. I escort guests to seating area, furnished menus and highlighted daily specials to promote positive experience. Supported serving staff, food runners and bussers to keep dining room presentable and ready for guest. Lastly I consistently collaborated with front of house staff to move tables and adjust seating to accommodate customers. I always strive to deliver impeccable service and support from initial interaction to final departure, maintaining a loyal clientele.
While working in a high end restaurant at The Forum Shops, I had to perform impeccable service in order to make sure that guests always received a five star experience. I designed custom private function and banquet packages for business dinners, sales presentations, club meetings, weddings and charity events. As the front of house lead I had to supervise activities of dining room staff making sure that they maintained service levels and supported the guests in whatever there needs may be. I would've enjoyed working in this fast paced environment longer but unfortunately Covid-19 shut our restaurant down.
As a hostess there were many tasks I handled daily. I answered all phone calls made to the restaurant, informing customers about information that they requested about our dining services. I also entered shift changes into the iPad whenever a new floor chart was established. I sat all of our customers, paying attention to both their personal requests and the seating rotation. While walking each party I engaged in meaningful conversations in order to make their experience more memorable. I also cleaned menus, stocked drink specials, made folds for the kitchen, performed upkeep on the windows and changed the televisions upon request. I was also the lead hostess trainer teaching all of the new hires what it meant to be a twin peaks girl and how to give a great experience to every customer. I also worked very closely with management, for they would go through me whenever their was a large event or party that needed to be put into our system. I helped the restaurant staff in anyway they needed, meanwhile maintaining perfect execution and coordination within the dining area.
My main focus as help desk support was to maintain constant communication with both athletes and parents of the gym. I was able to help answer any questions parents had through email and handled all phone calls that the gym received. I had to use spread sheets to organize parent/athlete information including payment methods, contact information, uniform sizes, personal health issues etc. Lastly I sorted through any packages or paperwork delivered to the gym in order to get them to the person whom they were intended for. This helped get work done more efficiently and gave the owner the opportunity to focus on the coaches and athletes of the gym.
Working for companies that center themselves around hospitality has deepened my understanding for others and has helped me build special connections with a variety of people. I strive to be the best worker I can be and diligently get work done to help my company succeed and prosper.
I have obtained both my TAM card and health card which one needs to work in a restaurant or bar. Some other qualities that help me thrive in any work space is that I'm a very fast learner when it comes to learning new material or skills. I am very outgoing and know how to communicate well with others, whether that be with management, co-workers, and customers. I am a hard worker and am willing to do whatever it takes to reach a certain goal. I am very diligent with my work and know how to manage my time well. I am also well versed with OpenTable and the ALOHA system navigating through these programs with ease. Lastly my best quality would be that I am a good leader and understand how to get people to work together to reach a common objective. |
Throughout high school my time was consumed by competitive cheerleading. The four years I was in this sport I learned a lot about my character and how to overcome obstacles that came my way. Through cheer I won many national titles and went to the world championship of cheerleading multiple times. Although this took up a lot of my time it wasn't just about winning jackets and metals for me, but I focused on growing as a person through my passion. My coaches helped me understand how to be a leader but also a team player. My time at the California Allstars helped me understand how being selfless is super beneficial, not just for yourself, but for the people around you. Also I was in the national honor society at my high school where we spent our time giving back to our community with charity events and fundraisers.
I am a second year college student at Nevada State College pursuing a Nursing Major. I recently transferred from Northern Arizona University to receive the benefits that Nevada States Nursing program offers too students. I graduated from Coronado High School in 2017 with an Advanced Honors Diploma. I received a 3.8 GPA while also having the honor of being one of the top in my class. I also took all AP or honors classes throughout my high school career, pushing any limits and boundaries I had previously set for myself.
