I worked in lumber mills up into the late nineties. Duties basically entailed grading and stacking lumber. The work was physically demanding but also very rewarding. In 2000 to 2002 I attended Culinary school and consequently went to work at CR Gibbs as a pantry chef. Duties consisted of prepping food for the upcoming night where I was in charge of making pizzas, salads, and desserts. Putting the dishes together correctly, presentation, and getting the dishes out in a timely manner was extremely important. After that I moved on to my first love. Working with all manner of plants and trees, and beautifying the scenery. I was able to practice this at the place I've worked until very recently, Tucker Oaks Golf course.
