Implemented public health outreach and counseling to decrease residents exposure to indoor asthma and allergy pollutants in the West Broadway Housing Development(WBHD), Recruited and trained WBHD residents to serve as Specialists in Indoor air quality and health education. As a team we conducted door to door population based surveys and implemented interventions with adults and children diagnosed with asthma. Made appropriate resident referrals to community agencies. Attended West Broadway Housing Task force board meetings to report survey results and general health education. Developed survey data sheets in the access database. Produced brochures, and fact sheets, to educate residents on how asthma and allergy impacts health. Explained available housing, domestic violence, employment, education and substance abuse treatment resources to residents. Attended information sessions and seminars at Harvard School of Public Health and Boston University School of Public Health each year to increase knowledge of exposure to indoor asthma and allergy pollutants and survey documentation. Prepared monthly reports and the bi-weekly payroll for Indoor Air Quality Specialists.
