Supported my husband with the National Guard family for 30 years.
Ensured families were taken care of for 18 months to Iraq in 2005 where my husband served as the company commander for the 150th CBT/ENG.
As the commander's wife, I maintained and assisted with the process of helping the families work through the deaths of 4 service members from the unit.
I established and managed Operation P.F.C. (Pennies for Communication) fundraiser for the unit to have a satellite at FOB Dogwood which raised over $4000.00 to purchase a satellite system and AT&T phone cards for the soldiers to communicate with their families.
Assisted and supported my husband on his 2nd tour of duty for 12 months in Afghanistan, 2009 with the 168th ENG BDE.

Working closely with the State Family Program Director/ Yellow Ribbon Director for MS Army National Guard Family Programs and Suicide Prevention Programs.
Ensuring the unit commanders and volunteers of the Family Readiness Groups (FRG) and programs were implemented correctly.
On planning committee to complete new FRG training manual State Family Workshop.
Coordinated and facilitated regional FRG trainings throughout the State of MS for FRG leadership.
Coordinated closely with 7 Mississippi FRSA's (Family Readiness Support Assistants) on different projects and committees and with the Family Assistant Centers (FAC's).

Assisted in establishing the "Candy for Troops" project for the SRP drill hall floor Candy buckets were placed on each desk for soldiers processing their paperwork.
Over 4000 pounds were donated to the project within 4 months to the chaplains at Camp Shelby and the project was still successful when I left to become the Senior Family Readiness Support.
