Managed, scheduled, observed, evaluated, hired, and coordinated training of a 5 employee department at the Main Library and ten additional staff at the branch libraries.
During my time as Youth Services Manager, we doubled our program offerings and came together as 8 library departments as one to set performance standards, begin a floating collection and standardized collection policy, as well as cross-publicize events throughout the county at a specific standard Set customer service standards; cooperated with other managers and librarians to revise district policies and rules (filtering, internet policy, dress code, patron misconduct).
Assisted in grant planning, writing, and facilitation, including a recently awarded $50,000 dollar donation to the children's departments for early literacy stations awarded by PBS and First Things First for all 8 youth departments in the county In May 2013, the Library received a $30,000 technology and science based grant from the IMLS to create a digital Science Station.
I wrote up the premise and assisted with writing the grant.
We are in the process or creating a math station at the San Luis branch library due to the success of the pilot in collaboration with PBS 8 Led and created the promotional materials for the library district's summer reading program and introduced "Outreach-Based" summer reading program which targeted over 900 non-library users and allowed them to participate via daycares, housing developments and church groups.
