I am a hard working, self motivated, team oriented individual. The Fire service is a career that I started pursuing back in 2018. Since then I have been through recruit school and have continued to further my education, knowledge and training pertaining to being a firefighter. I have a good sense of direction and tend to learn territory very fast and learn it well. Throughout my career I have been able to respond to many different types of emergency situations and have gotten to perform a wide variety of tactics both medical and fire suppression related. I am always on top of my duties and assignments while at work and take pride in doing the job completely and correctly the first time. I am good at listening to instructions and paying attention to detail. I am driven and responsible when it comes to maintaining a high level of physical fitness in order to perform my duties. I also have experience in driving and transporting patients with medical injuries and illnesses to a broad variety of hospitals in the Birmingham metropolitan area therefore I have knowledge of territory and roads that goes beyond my immediate area here where I currently work. In conclusion, I will be an employee who does what I am told and will perform all actions to the best of my ability.
For me, Basic EMT is my next goal. I will be attending EMT in the summer of 2022. Soon after I fully intend on going through paramedic school at Herzing University. I also plan to pursue an Associates Degree in Emergency Management in the near future. I would like to further my training in the fire service in all aspects. Extrication and Technical Rescue are two that most interest me due to the amount of knowledge, time, and experience that goes into being a well rounded rescue technician.
I pride myself on being the best that I can be, not just for myself, but for the citizens that I serve. To me that means being a skilled paramedic, a tactically aggressive firefighter on the fire ground, and being a knowledgeable member of a technical rescue team.
