DNR 04/2012 to 09/2012 McCormicks Creek State Park – Spencer,
IN I was given the opportunity to do a summer program through Work One in the summer of 2011 and 2012. During my time here, I trained with all the DNR working for the park at the time. There were numerous jobs to be done in order to keep up with all the projects going on in the park. Everyday it was mandatory to have a partner with you for each task because of all the risks involved on each job. My daily routine included hauling rock in the Gator, clearing & clean up of all foot trails through the park, cutting and trimming trees & bushes, building fences, landscaping, digging new fire pits & cleaning out old ones through-out the camp grounds, scrubbing out both public pool areas and setting up tables, cabins and stages for events put on by the park for the public.
In-Home Health Aid03/2011 to Current Individual Support Services – Martinsville,
IN My main responsibility is aiding my client in any way necessary to make him more comfortable. I specialize in the care of those physically handicapped. I currently take care of a young man whom is a quadriplegic and is paralyzed from the chest down. My daily routine with this client involves lifting, positioning, transferring and physical therapy. Bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, medication reminders & administration are among my duties through-out each day. I am trained in changing catheters and a wide variety of wound care dressings. I am also certified to use equipment such as a hoyer lift, electric wheel chair, gait belt, slide board and full body slings. I have much experience in the health care field and have worked with numerous clients from various backgrounds with a wide range of disabilities that vary from patient to patient.
Cashier02/2010 to 08/2010 CVS – Bloomington,
IN While working at CVS, I was trained in multiple areas of the store. As a cashier my daily duties were quite simple. I typically ran the front of the store alone during my shifts and was required to keep two registers open at all times and be accountable for all the money coming in and out as well as cash drops. After training as a cashier, I also learned how to stock and "face" items through-out the front end of the store as well as in the back after unloading trucks with new product. I spent a lot of time in the photo center once their new equipment arrived. I did a lot of multitasking through-out my time spent with CVS and must say that I enjoyed the fast pace environment. I really enjoyed working in a team oriented environment and greeting so many new faces each and every day.
Independant Contractor03/2005 to 09/2009 Bowman Construction – Spencer,
IN In the summer of 2005, I began working with my father who owned his own construction company. When I very first started this job, I was only assigned to construction clean up after each and every job. By my second year with the company I began working my way up to doing more and having more responsibilities. After much training, I was given the opportunity to prove myself and was in charge of a 5 man crew. I've worked on many big projects. My crew and I have built 10+ houses from the ground up, re-modeled Wee-Willies restaurant in Ellettsville, IN and re-modeled the Colorado Steak House in Bloomington, IN. When not working on a "main" project, our company did many side jobs. I've poured side walks, finished basements in customers homes, installed windows & doors, drywall work, framing and painting. I'm very familiar with all power tools, fork lifts and bob cats.
