Spent 7 years in the oil field, starting at the entry level position of floorhand working my way up to derrickhand. When I first started I didn't know anything about working on a drilling rig or how diverse the workforce would be. I was required to work with a variety of people, some were easy to get along with and others not so much. Regardless of how any of us felt about each other, we had a job to do and could only do it together. Over the years I learned a great deal, whether it was from direct one on one training or simply observing. By the end I was seen as one the most knowledgeable, reliable and honest workers. Teamwork and the wide range of coworkers are the reasons I was able to do so well and learned so much. I believe the lessons I learned about teamwork are probably the most valuable since I will use them in every job in the future.
