I have 46 years of experience in the workforce, starting with my first position out of high school as the Secretary of Store Engineering at Food Marketing. I established two businesses- PaPa Joe's Pizza where I was the Manager and Owner and Long's Inc, dba G&L Enterprises as Treasurer. I held the position of Office Manager for Big Rigs Inc. then onto Do it Best Corp. where I was a Merchandise Coordinator. My last position of Customer Service Sales Representative working remotely out of my home for Jerry Paulausky Associates. I also have held elected positions of Treasurer for the Do it Best Corp. Employee Board and the Fort Wayne Corvette Club. I am a former Big Sister in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Organization and continue to maintain my relationship with my Little Sister who is a senior at Ball State University in Muncie, IN. I am seeking a position that is both challenging and rewarding.
I worked remotely from my home. The position required me to be focused and dedicated to my responsibilities while providing outstanding customer service. I had to use good communication skills upon answering the office phone. I was responsible for providing Do it Best hardware store member/owners with quotes on our vendors products. I placed member/owner drop ship orders for direct shipment to their stores. I processed member/owner credits for damaged goods. Setting up vendor new items was one of my favorite tasks. These new items were then stocked by Do it Best Corp. in their eight warehouses across the United States. I processed vendor price changes. I set up vendor drop ship order forms and pool bulletins used by Do it Best member/owners for placing orders at Do it Best Corp. hardware conventions held twice a year in Indianapolis, Indiana. I was responsible for helping with booth set up and working the convention, representing our vendors. Even though I no longer am employed as a remote employee, I continue to be flown back to Indianapolis, Indiana twice a year to work the convention where I get to see my former Do it Best Corp. co-workers, visit with my former vendors and help the Do it Best hardware store member/owners with product information and placing orders.
In my job I used a remote access computer, Microsoft Outlook and various Excel templates, the printer/scanner and adding machine and remote office phone.
I assisted the Merchandise Manager in projects such as catalog maintenance, new item forms, bulletin preparation, website updates, advertising proofing, filing, Do it Best Corp. hardware conventions. I worked with vendors to gather product information, expedite and complete projects. I assisted Do it Best hardware member/owners in solving problems and providing information. This job required excellent communication skills and the ability to work with little supervision while meeting deadlines, a high level of organization, proficiency with Microsoft office, product knowledge and operating office equipment such as the fax machine, printer/copier, calculator and desktop computer.
My responsibilities were accounts payable & receivable, invoicing, payroll and payroll taxes, W2's and 1099's, fuel permits, Indiana sales and use taxes, MCFT taxes, personal property taxes, all monthly, quarterly and year end taxes, workman's comp audits. I used Quick Books, Microsoft Word, Excel, printer, copier and fax machine as well the office telephone.
I was responsible for accounts payable & receivable. I assisted the VP of company with collection of accounts receivable based on monthly past due/aging reports. Bank reconciliation, month end and year end closing, calculation of payroll hours, processing health insurance enrollment forms, purchasing of office supplies, answering of telephone in absence of receptionist. I used Quick Books, printer, copier, fax machine, adding machine.
I like to read murder mysteries, bass fish. I play euchre and California canasta and help with bingo at our Palm Village Ranch community center. I love to go on cruises and spoil our cat.
