- Led the successful $3.2 million Capital Campaign for Yamhill Community Action Partnership regional food bank & client services center (opened 11/11). As the hands-on chair of the campaign, I was involved in creating the case statement & marketing materials, identifying & contacting potential donors, meeting fundraising goals & deadlines, monitoring financial statements & reports to foundations, planning & executing events.
- Propelled Yamhill County's selection as one of seven jurisdictions nationwide in the National Institute of Corrections' Evidence Based Decision Making Initiative. As a member of the EBDMI policy team since 2010, I have guided the county's goals to reduce recidivism as well as costs associated with our local criminal justice system, by using data and focusing efforts on pretrial detainees, sentencing, and mentally ill offenders.
- Spearheaded the Farmland Activities Task Force, convening impacted state agency directors, legislators, county commissioners, and others to seek adjustments to land use laws to allow for a limited number of agriculture-related events on farmland. The final report led to the successful passage of SB 960 in 2011.
- Reorganized the Yamhill County governing structure to a strong administrator style, correcting inadequacies of the prior system by ensuring all department heads are appropriately supervised & mentored.

- Acts as one of three chief executive officers overseeing all county functions, including $80 million budget; planning and development; solid waste programs; health and human services ; community corrections; juvenile programs (; public works. Works as liaison with other elected officials including Sheriff, District Attorney, County Clerk.
- Supervises County Administrator and County Counsel. Previously supervised numerous professional Department Heads.
- Serves on the policy team for the county's Evidence Based Decision Making Initiative; member of the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission.
- Chaired Yamhill Community Action Partnership (YCAP) $3.2 million Capital Campaign for a new regional food bank & client services center (opened 11/2011).
- Serves as President for the Association of Oregon Counties, leading commissioners and county judges from Oregon’s 36 counties in the development of goals & priorities for the organization; advocating for those goals priorities with the Governor’s Office, state agencies & legislators, and our federal delegation.
- Serves on the Oregon Solutions Steering Committee and Regional Solutions Team for Marion/Polk/Yamhill Counties.
- Serves on Job Growers, Inc. (regional workforce development) Board and Executive Committee; Chairs Jobs Council, comprised of the nine Commissioners from Marion/Polk/Yamhill Counties to oversee expenditure of Workforce Investment Act funds; served 2 1/2 years on Oregon Workforce Investment Board.
