The American College of Surgeons STOP THE BLEED® Instructor course prepares Instructors in scheduling their own courses and teaching a STOP THE BLEED® program, where students learn how to stop life threatening bleeding through the application of pressure, bandaging and the proper use of tourniquets.
Instructor development course in Article 35 of NYS Penal law, covering Defense of Justification, Use of Force Continuum and Use of Deadly Force. Upon course completion, instructors can teach Article 35 Use of Force at the officer level. Article 35 must be reviewed annually to maintain Peace and Police Officer Status in NY state.
Intensive two week long course instructing Officers on how to become Law Enforcement Instructors. Course included preparation of materials, course planning , layout, and time management. Through numerous presentations ranging from 1 to 45 minutes in length, Officers were challenged to present material that they were both comfortable and uncomfortable with, culminating in a 1 hour presentation for a final grade.
The NY state Correction Officer academy prepares students for a career in corrections. Specifically the day to day safety and security of working in a correctional facility. Courses also include verbal communication, de-escalation of volatile inmates, suicide prevention, defensive tactics, use of restraints and firearms training.
